The main work
The Frank Palmisano YouTube channel is my main creative home. I started it in 2006, during YouTube’s earliest era, and built it by following real interests rather than a single formula. The videos now center on immersive resort walks, casino stories, Atlantic City, local landmarks, road trips, community events, history, and places undergoing change.
My approach combines first-person exploration with context. I want a viewer to understand what a location feels like, how its pieces connect, and why a visible detail matters. That may mean walking beyond the tourist route, researching the history of a property, comparing what exists with what was promised, or using aerial footage to make the geography clear.
A different view from above
I am an FAA Part 107-certified remote pilot and available for select aerial photography and video projects. Drone footage is most useful when it explains a place: the scale of a property, its relationship to the surrounding community, the path of an event, or the landscape that cannot be understood from one ground-level view.
I take on work for businesses, destinations, properties, local stories, and events when the project and operating conditions are a good fit. Every flight depends on airspace, weather, site access, safety, and the needs of the specific location.
The nerdy secondary channel
Upstate Speedtests is the side project for wireless networks and the infrastructure behind them. It covers carrier testing, spectrum, small cells, towers, and real-world performance. It is deliberately a secondary channel; the destination and local-story work remains front and center on the main Frank Palmisano channel.
Why this website exists
YouTube is where the videos live. This site gives the work a permanent home where I can add the story behind a shoot, explain my process, and connect related videos without depending entirely on a recommendation feed. Everything in the Field Notes section is original writing based on my own filming experience.
